Note from the chairs: Originally Yuki Ito was supposed to present a poster entitled On the Semantics and Pragmatic Underpinning of Essentially Plural Nouns. To our greatest shock the author passed away in untimely fashion shortly before presenting his work at the ESSLLI Student Session. In order to commemorate him we decided to include the last version of his paper that he had sent us into the proceedings.
Deadline for submissions: March 31, 2015

About: The Student Session of the 27th European Summer School in Logic, Language, and Information (ESSLLI) will take place in Barcelona, Spain, August 3rd to 14th. We invite submissions of original, unpublished work from students in any area at the intersection of Logic & Language, Language & Computation, or Logic & Computation. Submissions will be reviewed by several experts in the field, and accepted papers will be presented orally or as posters and will appear in the student session proceedings by Springer. This is an excellent opportunity to receive valuable feedback from expert readers and to present your work to a diverse audience.
Oral/Poster Presentations: Note that there are two separate kinds of submissions, one for oral presentations and one for posters. This means that papers are directly submitted either as oral presentations or as poster presentations. Reviewing and ranking will be done separately. We particularly encourage submissions for posters, as they offer an excellent opportunity to present smaller research projects and research in progress.
Sponsorship and Prizes: Springer generously supports the ESSLLI Student Session by offering prizes for a total of 1000€ in Springer books. The best poster and the best talk will be awarded Springer book vouchers of 500€ each. The prizes are awarded based on the reviews of the submission as well as the oral/poster presentation.
ESSLLI 2015 will feature a wide range of foundational and advanced courses and workshops in all areas of Logic, Language, and Computation. For further information, including registration information and course listings, and for general inquiries about ESSLLI 2015, please consult the main ESSLLI 2015 page.
Below you can find the submission and publication policies for the Student Session.

Publication policies:
Extended versions of all accepted papers are available as online proceedings.
Springer volumes in the LNCS series with the best papers of 2008-2009, the best papers of 2010-2011 and the best papers of 2012-2013 have been published. We aspire to publish a forthcoming volume for 2014-2015.
Attendance of the ESSLLI 2015 Student Session including presenting a poster or a talk requires registering for ESSLLI. However, the registration is free for one author of each accepted paper (posters and talks).
If authors would like to register before the notification of acceptance, they can do so (in the category Early Students). Their registration fees will be refunded (by the ESSLLI organization committee) once their papers have been accepted.
The local organization committee of ESSLLI kindly agreed to reserve beds in the Urbany Barcelona Hostel for authors of accepted papers until shortly after the notification of acceptance. More information is provided on the ESSLLI page.
